So Much Sewing Going On! from The Modern Diary

I made a mini goal to get a row on the Sparkling New Year Mystery each week.  Here is last week (and an error I just noticed today) and below is this week's and another error!  So there will be some unsewing happening later on.  Oops!  Bug had to pose too.
Hazel did a little painting at my house on a cool mat that uses water only.  She really liked it.  She is potty trained now, time is flying!  My daughter is pregnant again and due in August...it is another girl.  We cannot wait!
My honorary daughter Rachel ...

RT Gets a Start! from The Modern Diary

I quilted and bound both of Hazel's doll quilts.  They have unicorn fabric on the back.

Reading a lot still.  I found this one annoying though I did want to know how it ended.  In its defense, it is a YA.  I do not plan to read book two!

We went to Hannah and Jeremy's for Thanksgiving.  I brought and made my turkey and wine gravy, and completed pumpkin pie and pumpkin roll.  My ex hubby and his sister (and her hubby) and one grown daughter (my goddaughter) and her boyfriend came too.  We played Bang! afterwards and ...

Books, Games, and Pine Tree Point is a Flimsy! from The Modern Diary

I got a surprise package the other day!  You may remember I ordered a second blind date with a book from Book_Bestie's Etsy shop.  Well, it was lost in the mail so when I contacted her she immediately sent me a new book.  Weeks later the lost one arrived.  So I get a bonus Blind date!  I DNF'ed the replacement book "Wolf Hall" as it just was not doing it for me by the half way point.  Excited to try the original second one!

I did the Booktube spin #1 and so my chosen book was Jurassic Park ...

A Whole Lot of Reading Going On from The Modern Diary

I recently discovered a whole world on youtube/booktube.  Been adding to my to be read list like crazy.  Read all of the above books (well, almost done with the top left one) as well as "Mexican Gothic," and "Billy Summers" which Jay gave me as a belated birthday present which did not make it in the picture.  I see "The Starless Sea" is not centered right either.  It is early, I have not started my coffee yet!  I have noticed most of the booktubers I have found are twentysomethings and I wish I could find some nearer my age ...

Christmas with the Youngest and Mystery Quilts are Caught Up! from The Modern Diary

Two blog posts in one day since I cannot figure out how to schedule this one like I used to!
We went and saw Jay the day after Christmas.  He liked his gifts and his stocking.  While we were there we had pizza and played "The Game," "Blokus," (which he gifted us) and "Five Crowns," which is a long time favorite game.
My Once Upon a Time advent box came super late on Christmas Eve.  Read two stories a day and opened my gifts.  We got four books in the box!  Really fun stuff.
Here is clue five of Grassy ...

City Sampler UFO in Progress! from The Modern Diary

We met Hannah and Jeremy at the lake walk area and walked around and took pictures of her and them.  She is due in three weeks, we cannot wait!
Kathy and I played some games last night.  Tried out our new Villainous, which we enjoyed and then played Opale.  That one is a fast favorite of ours.

On Tuesday it is our fifteen year anniversary (give or take a year) so I convinced Kathy to buy me this lovely quilt display from FB marketplace for 80 bucks!  Super happy and now I have more room to store quilts!

Kathy has ...

Morewood Mystery, Games and Chunky Churn Dashes Galore! from The Modern Diary

Spent some time these past weeks cutting and sewing four Chunky Churn Dash quilts from Quiltville.  Free pattern if you click on the link.  SUPER fun and fast.  I was not planning on making four baby quilts (though I always seem to be in need of them for gifts) but it was fun since I used my huge bucket of kid fabrics.  I just kept on making sets while gabbing on the video phone with BJ and sometimes Andrea too.  At least we have technology during Covid to keep up close.

Kathy made a table to go with my chair ...
